For congregations disposing of Bibles, hymnbooks and Christian education materials, there is an alternative to the recycling bin. Materials can be sent to the Christian Salvage Mission where they are boxed and sent to Christians in overseas countries. The organization is based in Hamilton, ON, but there are collection depots located in cities across Canada. The Mission collects the following types of materials regardless of the date of publication:
- Bibles (even weighty pulpit Bibles)
- New Testaments
- Psalters
- hymn books (only those with music)
- devotionals

Congregations are invited to enter the specifications of their pipe organs to this comprehensive North American database maintained by the Organ Historical Society based in Villanova, Pennsylvania. This is considered the definitive database for pipe organs, not only in the United States, but also in Canada.
